Meet the Associates

Anna Samoilov, Ph.D. is a Russian-born clinical psychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents. She specializes in individual and family therapy with adopted children, as well as bilingual assessment of Russian-adopted children. Dr. Samoilov earned her doctorate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship in child psychology at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Samoilov has published in many professional journals, such as Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, Clinical Psychology: Science and Practice, and Journal of Psychotherapy Integration. She is on faculty at Harvard Medical School and is an Attending Psychologist at McLean Hospital. She is affiliated with the American Psychological Association, the Massachusetts Psychological Association, and the Society for the Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration.


Ruth E. Lewis, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist with expertise in family therapy, as well as lesbian and gay issues. Dr. Lewis earned her doctorate degree from Boston College, and completed her Clinical Psychology Fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lewis served as an Attending Psychologist at McLean Hospital until leaving there to pursue her private practice full-time. She is affiliated with the American Psychological Association and participates in a feminist psychotherapy study group.

Dr. Lewis conducts couples and family therapy with adoptive families, clinical consultations, and supportive counseling to parents in conjunction with their child's treatment. She offers supportive counseling to adoptive families pre and post adoption. Dr. Lewis has a particular interest in lesbian families.


Lynn Heroux, Ph.D. is a nationally certified school psychologist, providing assessment, clinical and consultation services to adoptive families and schools. She earned her Master's degree in school psychology from The Ohio State University, and her doctoral degree in school and counseling psychology at Northeastern University. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Boston Children's Hospital, and the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Heroux has conducted training workshops at several international, national and state conferences, and currently serves as an adjunct instructor in school psychology at Tufts University. She is affiliated with the National Association of School Psychologists and the Society for Research in Child Development.
